here's something about the name Meenakshi Dixit that catches the ear at once. No prizes for guessing.
But while any comparisons to Madhuri Dixit would be unfair at this stage, the fact that she herself is a fan of the star and looks stunningly attractive herself is a good start.
Contrary to her glamourous look, however, Meenakshi Dixit's Tollywood debut film Lifestyle will see her playing a simpleton. "It's a performance-oriented role," she tells us. Men, don't lose heart, though, for the svelte actress will more than make up for it with a couple of sizzling numbers in the very same movie! "The glam is confined to the songs in this film, and the director has done a good job of shooting the numbers aesthetically," says the debutant, further divulging that in the movie, there's a young lad who keeps dreaming about her. That's quite understandable, no? Any real-life similarities here, we ask her. "No way and also I don't like to discuss my personal life," she retorts.
But she isn't just about the looks. As we get into chat, she surprises us by revealing her other unknown talents. "I bagged medals in school and college as a 100-meter sprinter and also dabbled in hockey before fine-tuning my dancing skills. I still cherish Saroj Khan's appreciation of my graceful dancing in a TV dance show," she tells us.
Acting's though been the one dream she's harboured since childhood. And she's thankful to Telugu director Muppulaneni Siva for letting her realise it by signing her for his youth-centric film. "Given that no one in the family was associated with films, I had to silently nurture my ambition, but now it has turned true," she smiles. She is very passionate about films and idolises Madhuri Dixit. "Oh God, she the ultimate actress and anyone would love be in her shoes," she signs off.
