Varun Tej's Debut Film Launched: Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun Attend Varun Tej's debut film was launched amid much fanfare on Thursday (27 February). 

 The opening ceremony of the film's launch was a grand affair with the presence of Mega family members including actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Nagababu, Allu Arjun, Allu Sirish and Allu Arvind among others, who graced the occasion and conveyed their best wishes to the newcomer. Fans thronged in numbers for the launch function at Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad. Thanking everybody for the grand launch of his debut film, Varun Tej tweeted, "Thanks to each and everyone who made this opening a grand success!...especially to all the fans who hav come to support me!..thank you!..:)" Film's leading lady Pooja Hegde tweeted, "Was a great muharatam today for my Shrikant Adala and @IAmVarunTej movie..now excited to start shooting for it:)" For the first time in Telugu film industry, a film launching ceremony was telecast live on TV.

The event was also live streamed online and to look at the video, click HERE. For the last few months, speculations about Varun Tej's debut flick were doing the rounds. Finally, it was confirmed that the newbie would be acting under the direction of Srikanth Addala ("Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" fame). The yet-to-be-titled flick will be produced by Tagore Madhu and Nallamalupu Bujji under Leo Entertainments banner. The shooting of the film, touted to be a romantic entertainer, is all set to commence in April. An official announcement of the film's cast and crew is still awaited. Varun is the latest entrant from the Mega family to have joined the Telugu film industry. The actor is the son of Nagababu and a nephew of Chiranjeevi. The Mega Star's other nephew, Sai Dharam Tej, is still awaiting the release of his debut flick "Rey."

Omkar Annayya Dream For Pawan Kalyan, Samantha

TV anchor turned director Omkar annayya has become a fun item for several directors. His Aata episodes were spoofed in Allari Naresh's 'Sudigadu' and director Srinu Vaitla is incorporating Omkar parody scenes in Mahesh Babu's 'Aagadu'.

Omkar's debut directorial ‘Genius’ utter flop result made him go back to anchoring and producing TV programs. This man has revealed a life time dream of directing a film with Power Star Pawan Kalyan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. As per reports, Omkar is preparing a script for Pawan Kalyan and would narrate the story to Power Star very soon.

Pawan Kalyan is known to encourage new talents and has given chance to many aspiring directors. His next films Gabbar Singh 2 and Oh My God Telugu remake are to be made with small time directors Sampath Nandi and Dolly respectively. Omkar is confident about his script and hoping to convince Pawan Kalyan if the actor atleast gives him time to narrate the subject. The project may not happen in near future even if Pawan Kalyan is pleased with the story as many star directors such as Trivikram Srinivas, Vamsi Paidipally, VV Vinayak, SS Rajamouli, Puri Jagannath etc are lined up.

Story

Shruti (Vaani Kapoor) is a college girl who pre-plans her life and is ambitious to turn a wedding planner. She meets up with Shakti (Nani) a happy-go-lucky guy who has no aim in life, in an event. Shakti joins her as partner and the two establish a wedding planning business. For Shruti, finance and romance cane never intermixed and thus they form few rules. After slowly finding success in their business by working together, the two fall for each other. But the two spoil their relationship with ego clashes. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Nani has done an entertaining role as Shakti stepping into the shoes of Ranveer Singh. His way of speaking English and mannerisms with apt comedy timing will entertain.

Vani Kapoor is naturally beautiful and she did her role well. Her chemistry with Nani was good on watch. Simran does a cameo. Other supporting cast are okay.

Technical Analysis

Dharan Kumar musical scores aren’t pleasing and the lyrics are equally bad. However, they are shot well. Cinematography is colorful and impressive while the editing is decent. Director Gokul Krishna, who made his debut stuck to the original versions except for very few changes that suits Tamil audiences taste. Yash Raj films production values are rich.

Analysis

Aaha Kalyanam is the loyal remake of Band Baaja Baarat for its content. Director Gokul Krishna played safe game without major changes to the script except it to suit Tamil audiences taste. Being a dubbed version and too much of Tamil flavor sans lip sync, Telugu audiences may not experience the magic of Band Baaja Baraat. Audiences who are fan of BBB movie, may not like Aaha Kalyanam for its energy and verve missing.

While the first half has some interesting moments, the second half moves on predictable lines lacking emotional depth. Also, the entire film is of Tamil flavor including none of the Telugu popular supporting cast and it can be felt throughout the movie. Aaha Kalyanam can be watched for the lead cast performances, the romantic movements and colorfully pictured songs.

Final Verdict

A decent one time watch, provided u don’t mind too much of Tamil nativity.

NTR’s Rabhasa Song to Be Wrapped Today

Young Tiger NTR starrer Rabhasa shoot is progressing in Hyderabad, and a song which is being shot from past few days will be wrapped up by today. With this three songs of the film shoot will be wrapped.

A couple of other songs in the movie will be canned in foreign locales while in the meantime, the next schedule shoot of the movie will commence from 21st February. Santhosh Srinivas is the director of the film.

With Samantha and Praneetha as heroines alongside NTR, Rabhasa movie is being produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under Sri Sai Ganesh productions banner. Shyam K Naidu is the cinematographer and Thaman is music composer. Rabhasa is touted to be a commercial mass entertainer.

Story

Sherwani Model Prakash (Nani) is desperate to turn rich with his tricks. He likes his neighborhood Muslim girl Noor (Catherine Tresa). Prakash meanwhile comes across Sweety (Siddhika Sharma) daughter of powerful minister Sanyasi Raju (Charan Raj) and decided to turn rich with the help of her. On the other hand, Sanyasi Raju plans to become CM spending the money illegally of 50 Crores. Prakash realizes his love for Noor, once her wedding with old Dubai Sheikh is set and he plans to spoil the marriage with the help of his friends in an Innova without knowing there are 50 crores in the same car. Now, Dubai Sheikh’s Goons, cops and Sanyasi Raju’s gang chases Prakash and the rest forms the crux.

Performances

It is tailor made role for Nani and he is at ease in performance. He was quite good at dialogue delivery, expressions in emotional sequences and action sequences. A special mention of scene where Nani finds money is neatly shot.

Catherine Tresa is beautiful but she has nothing much to perform in the limited role. Same is the case with Siddhika Sharma, who also looked glamorous in the film.

Charanraj is impressive, Raja Ravindra, Duvvasi Mohan, Bharath Reddy are effective in their given roles.

Technical Analysis

Cinematography is not up to the mark, the visuals fails to appeal, Sai Karthik’s audio scores are decent but the BGM is too loud. DI works are poor, dialogues have nothing to boast of. Story is appealing but screenplay isn’t effective, Krishna Vamsi’s direction is not upto expectations. Editing is bad. Yellow Flowers Production values are poor.

Analysis

Krishna Vamsi comes up with a decent, realistic storyline where the current society is after money and how money plays key role in day-to-day lives. However, the screenplay lacks freshness or thrilling moments. Direction is not up to expectations and the scenes are over the top at times. Logic goes for a toss and there are too many loopholes in the script. Cinematography could have been neat rather than the complex angles. The first half is too sluggish with slow-paced narration. Though the interval episode and few good scenes in the second half impress you, the proceedings loose its steam. Climax is okay but Paisa doesn’t provide any entertainment. Nani is the only saving grace for this otherwise boring drama.

Southern actress Hansika Motwani and Tamil actor Silambarasan aka Simbu have confirmed that they are in a relationship. However, Simbu says any decision related to their marriage will be taken by their respective families. Hansika had been rubbishing rumours about her link-up with Simbu, but she has finally opened up on micro-blogging site Twitter.

"(I have) been hearing many rumours about my personal life, so just want to clear (the air).Yes, I'm seeing STR (Simbu) and hence I wouldn't like to talk about my personal life," Hansika posted on her Twitter page.

Confirming the news, Simbu posted on Twitter: "Yes, I'm with Hansika and right now she is doing really good and marriage will be decided by our family. (I) hope you will respect our privacy".
