Chaitanya Dantuluri, who made his debut with the critically acclaimed Banam, exudes confidence over his second project Basanti, starring Brahmanandam's son Gautham and Alisha Baig. The director says that the film, which has an interesting campus love story with the backdrop of terrorism, is sure to hook the audience.
"Gautham is a student at Basanti Arts College, while Alisha Baig plays his love interest. What happens between the two and how their lives are affected by terrorism is the plot of the movie. The film has shaped up very well and we are quite happy with the output," says Chaitanya.
Quiz the director on why he chose Gautham and he says, "I've been looking for someone who doesn't have a larger than- life image. I wanted to cast a relatively fresh actor. I believe Gautham fit the bill and he liked the script too," explains Chaitanya, adding Mani Sharma's quality tunes will once again be one of the assets of the film. "Mani gave fantastic tunes for my earlier film Banam too and we want to recreate the magic with Basanti as well," signs off the director.
